What the assessment actually is

 This is not a five-minute "free consultation" dressed up as an audit. It's a structured review that covers the things a generalist MSP simply doesn't know to check in a specialty dental practice — imaging network configuration, practice-management-software uptime posture, dental-specific HIPAA operational gaps, and the backup and recovery posture that keeps chair time intact when things go wrong.

Our paying clients receive this review as part of onboarding. We're offering it free to qualified Portland-area practices because we think the ortho and oral surgery market is underserved on this — and because a well-run assessment tends to be the clearest way for a practice owner to see whether working with a specialist is worth the conversation.

How it works

 Four steps, about three to four hours of your team's time over two weeks.


Step 1 — You tell us about your practice. You fill out a short intake form below. It takes about 5 minutes. We use it to confirm fit and prepare for the call.

Step 2 — 30-minute discovery call. A video or phone call with our team. We talk through your current IT setup, your practice management and imaging systems, and what's been frustrating. Bring whatever questions you have.

Step 3 — We run the assessment. Over the following few business days, we perform a network and domain inventory, review your compliance posture, and document the gaps. This happens in the background — your team doesn't have to stop working.

Step 4 — You get a written report. Within five business days of the call, we deliver a written gap report. It covers what's working, what's at risk, and what we'd prioritize in the first 90 days. We walk through it with you on a follow-up call. No obligation to continue beyond that.

What the gap report covers

 Every assessment includes a written review across the same ten areas we review during every client onboarding:

  • HIPAA documentation and risk assessment posture
  • Practice management and imaging software health (Dolphin, tops Ortho, Cloud 9, Ortho2 Edge, Dentrix Ascend, and others we support)
  • Imaging hardware and 3D workflow infrastructure (Sirona, Carestream, i-CAT, Planmeca, iTero)
  • Network configuration and operatory connectivity
  • Endpoint security and device management
  • Backup, recovery, and ransomware readiness
  • Business Associate Agreements and vendor compliance
  • Email, secure messaging, and client communication
  • Access controls, MFA, and user account hygiene
  • Oregon-specific regulatory considerations

You get the report in writing, not as a slide deck you have to sit through. It's yours to keep, act on, or share with another IT provider if you prefer — we don't ask for it back.

 Yes. No charge for the assessment, the report, or the follow-up call. No credit card required. 


 Honestly, there isn't one. We'd rather earn your trust by doing real work for you up front than by running a pitch deck. If after the report you decide you want us to handle your IT, we'd love to have that conversation. If not, you still have the report. 


 About three to four hours of your team's time spread over two weeks — a 30-minute discovery call, a brief on-site or remote network walkthrough, and a 45-minute follow-up call to go through the report. 


 No access to client data or EHR systems. We review your infrastructure, configuration, and compliance documentation. If any step requires deeper access, we'll ask first and explain why. 


 That's fine. Many of the practices we assess have an existing provider and are trying to decide whether the relationship is working. The report is yours to use however you want — including sharing it with your current provider so they can address the gaps we identify. 


 Yes. We write the report so it's useful to both the practice owner and whatever technician is handling the work, including competitors of ours.
